How To Get Rid Of Dandruff?

Hi, i have dandruff and it usually comes and goes. But it also worsens. My dandruff comes in large flakes and even if it touches medicated shampoo it becomes extra dry. I think its seborrheic Dermatitis but its not exactly red. rather white. Flakes fall off easier too? What could it be? Just really bad dry scalp? And what treatment can i use? The more i shampoo the worse it gets...even if i shampoo one a week its still reacts, though not so much. I heard if i shave my head it will heal its self. Thats what some with similar experience inform me...recommendations?

Thank you for query.it is not clear about the age,sex ,duration of problem, exact morphology of problem, other symptoms etc you are facing.IF only dandruff you can use antifungal shampoos with ketoconazole.use soft water for hairwash.it be simply due to dandruff or due to other conditions like psoriasis. if excess flakes .Do not wash hair daily weekly twice or thrice would do.so please consult dermatologist for examination and diagnosis.

Hi,

According to your history, looks like you have seborrheic eczema.. ie dandruff over scalp
Seborrhoeic dermatitis (also known as "seborrheic eczema" )is an inflammatory skin disorder affecting the scalp, face, and torso.

Typically, seborrheic dermatitis presents with scaly, flaky, itchy, and red skin.

It particularly affects the sebaceous-gland-rich areas of skin.
In adolescents and adults, seborrhoeic dermatitis usually presents as scalp scaling similar to dandruff or as mild to marked erythema of the nasolabial fold.

Dermatologists recommend topical treatments such as shampoos, cleansers or creams/lotions that contain antifungal, anti-inflammatory, sebo-suppressive or keratolytic ingredients:One combination approach combines a dandruff shampoo, antifungal agent and topical steroid .

Hope it helps
