Hi my name is Mahesh Age : 32 height : 6 Feet Weight : 81 Kgs I have been suffering from chronic constipation for about 3 years now. I feel the urge to pass my stools atleast 5 to 6 times day. However when i go the bathroom I dont get it. Even if I do its hardly anything. I am currently taking ayurvedic churna to help me with my stools. However by evening i feel bloated in my stomach and very heavy. I start passing gases from 5 pm onwards because of which i feel very heavy in stomach and cant eat much. In case if i happen to eat more, then i leads to restless sleep which includes tossing and turning in the bed and also wheezing sounds. When i wake up in the morning i have lot of cough in my throat. Over a period of time i have also been experience hoarseness in my voice and cold which doesnt seem to go. Kindly help

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain chronic constipation can occur due to causes like lack of dietary fibres, dehydration, stress, lack of physical activity conditions like Irritable Bowel syndrome, laxative abuse, hormonal causes like hypothyroidism, diabetes, weakening of muscles of digestive tract, nerve related disorders etc..
It seems that you are suffering from acid reflux also leading to excess mucous in throat in the morning as acid reflux occurs more during lying down..
As it is 3 years it has become a chronic case and you need to consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Colonoscopy, Ultrasound, blood tests , barium swallow, muscle function with tests like Anorectal Manometry, colorectal transit study can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can take a high fibre diet, take fibre supplements like Psyllium..
Take laxatives like castor oil and stool softeners like Docusate..
Drink plenty of water..
Do moderate workout and take walk after meals..
Take small portions of food every 2 hours..
Prescription medicines like Lubiprostone and Linclotide can also be advised..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
