How To Get Rid Of Alcoholism?

My son age 23 is an alcoholic. He becomes beligerent and aggressive, drinks to the point of passing out, then does not remember anything. I recently read that many alcoholics have allergies such as gluten that contribute to the addiction.

Where can he go to try and get tested? Allergist, psychiatrist, addiction specialist? he doesn't have insurance so I want to move in the right direction.

Hello

I can understand your concerns for your son.

I think you must consult a psychiatrist.
In my opinion, he would require a residential de-addiction treatment.
There are drugs like librium and ativan will help to control withdrawals.
Also, psychological therapies like motivation enhancement therapy will help to keep his spirits high to quit alcohol.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
