How To Get Rid Of A Week Old Diaper Rash?

My son has had a diaper rash for atleast a week now and weve been using diaper creams and nothing. My daughter just recently got diagnosed with impetigo on her face could he have caught it on his gential area in any way? And if so the cream mupirocin that we have used on my daughter would it help my son? Thank you

Hello. I just read through your question. The most common type of worsening rash in the diaper area is a fungal rash. Typically, anti-fungal creams are prescribed for this.
However, if there are any areas of broken skin, it could be impetigo, as you mentioned. If this is the case, you can use the mupirocin 3 times per day. I recommend also using the diaper cream on top of the mupirocin. You should see improvement within 2-3 days. If you do not, I recommend consulting with your doctor.
