How To Get Pregnant While On TB Treatment?
Hi Doctor,
I am 28 year old Married woman who is trying to conceive from last 6-7 months. I conceived very first time on Aug'11 but because of some circumstances we aborted it...it was 5-6 weeks pregnancy and abortion was medicinal first but since some residues were still there in my body so after doctor's recommendation I went through operational abortion. Now after one and half years of this we started again planning for pregnancy but after 9-10 months continuous efforts i couldn't. after getting consultation from local gynecologist, I took medicines AKT-4 for latent TB for 2 months and started taking AKT-3 from 1 week. She advised me to conceive now and take treatment (AKT-3) for 6 months now. I am worried that these medicines can have some negative impact on my pregnancy. Is because of latent TB I could not conceive even after trying for it since last 10-11 months or my first abortion brought some complications? Is there any way through which I can conceive successfully this month. I met my last MC on 14th Feb. Please suggest how can I have successful pregnancy in 2-3 months with continuing my latent TB treatment( AKT-3 medicines) without any negative impact neither on my pregnancy nor on my new born baby. Please Advice.

Your previous miscarriage can be because of TB.And TB is most common cause of infertility.
Your previous pregnancy sequelae are less likely the cause of infertility.
About conceiving while on AKT 3 , in my opinion it is not advisable to conceive while taking AKT 3 as during the initial 3 months no drugs are safe for the developing baby.
Complete the course of AKT and than try conception.
