How To Differentiate Between Fibroadenoma And Tumor In Breast?

Hi, I recently had an ultrasound done for a lump in my breast. The results got sent back to my doctor and apparently its called fibroadenoma. Id like to know how you would know, form looking at the ultrasound, that it isn t cancerous. Also id appreciate it if you can explain how you would know the difference between a fibroadenoma and a regular tumour in my breast. Thank you very much. All the best.

General Surgeon 's  Response
hi.

based on ultrasound findings alone, a fibroadenoma is solid, firm by palpation and with a regular, well-defined border.. but the best way to know the character of the breast lesion is thru a tissue diagnosis or a biopsy. a consult with your general surgeon is best for this concern, and also, for subsequent monitoring of the lesion.

hope this helps.

good day!!
