How To Diagonise The Presence Of Ulcerative Colitis?

I have had rectal bleeding for 2 years now that doctors believe to be from Ulcerative Colitis. I am currently
taking Lialda which helps with the other symptoms of UC but not with bleeding. My new concern is that recently I noticed blood in between cracks in the stool. What I mean is where two pieces of a stool fit together say like a jigsaw puzzle, the area between is bloody. Wouldn't this mean that blood is in the area where stool is being formed? You help is sincerely appreciated!!, Thank you, Jeff

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Rectal bleeding for two years is a long time to have this and now the blood in in the stool. Since you have not mentioned about any investigations, I take that the treatment was going on as empirical hence I would advise you the following in such a situation to get a proper diagnosis.
First of all consult a Gastroenterologist for clinical evaluation and examination.
Get an appointment for colonoscopy and biopsy.
Get the tests of stool and blood done.
CT scan of the whole abdomen helps a lot.
All these things will lead to the exact diagnosis making a proper management possible to get a cure.
Ulcerative colitis per se is a debilitating disease and you have not mentioned any such severe symptoms hence the possibility about other diagnosis can be done and treated accordingly.
