Hello dear, I understand your concern. In my opinion the number of weeks of pregnancy can be known by the help of ultrasound. Ultrasound taken in 1 st trimester will help us to know the age of pregnancy with accuracy. So you need not worry about it. The abdominal ultrasound will be able to diagnose the pregnancy between 6-7 weeks. And the transvaginal ultrasound detects the pregnancy between 5-6 weeks. Serum BHCG testing can be done but it is not accurate. So ultrasound which is a non invasive technique is accurate. Hope this helps. Best regards...Dr.Srilatha
