How To Detect Pregnancy?

Im 20 years old i weight 174 and my height is 5'4 My period lasts 5 days, I normally have a heavy flow the first 3 days an the last 2 days it's smooth, I got my period on April the 4th and it lasted 9 days, the first day i was spotting and had bad cramps, then from the 2nd to 6th day i had a heavy flow and the last 3 days I was spotting. This month I have not gotten my period and have no signs, what I noticed is that i have been having pains in my right uterus, and I also felt something pop, I have felt alot of fluttering in my uterus, I get fatigued easily, tired, dizzy, sleepy and have been too emotional. I can't stand for a long time because my lowerback starts hurting, could that be a sign I'm pregnant? What are the chances I could be pregnant, when I have had unprotected sex and the has been ejaculation inside?

Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

Pregnancy symptoms vary widely between women, and many of the same symptoms people associate with pregnancy like spotting, breast tenderness, bloating, nausea and mood changes can also been used by other hormonal factors. In addition, pelvic pain can also have many causes. Therefore, there is no way to know if you are pregnant based on symptoms, and the most common sign of pregnancy is missing your period.

So, if you are having unprotected sex you are at risk for pregnancy. I suggest performing a urine pregnancy test if you miss your period. If you do not and continue to have pelvic pain, an examination by a gynecologist would be prudent to rule out any other causes of your abdominal pain.

I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
