How To Deal With Irregular Sleep Patterns Causing Dizziness?

Hello. I m 37/female and haven t been sleeping well for sometime. I work 12 hour swing shift which means one day I ll work daylight, next day I ll be working overnight. Today I woke up feeling very dizzy. So dizzy that I can only sit in a certain position or I ll be tossing my lunch into the trash can. Can t lie down or stand up without the room spinning. I m not sure if this will pass like the stomach bug does or if I need medication from the doctor. If you could help, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

hello there, every body has its own biological sleep cycle and this sleep cycle rearrange itself every 24 hours. Now in your case what is happening is one day you are doing day duty and sleeps at night and the other day you are doing night duty and feels dizzy the next day. Means your body doesn't get time to normalize the sleep wake cycle . I suggest you to ask your supervisor to make a fixed duty time table for you or you consider taking some other job where you don't get shift duties. At present you don't require any sleeping pills.
