How To Cure Tonsillitis With Symptoms Of Pain And Swallowing Difficulty? Azithomycin Not Helping

i am suffering from tosilities with symptoms of pain in swallowing and yellow cough.i had PTB and i completed 6 month ATT course on 25/02/2014.immediate after treatment i got tonsilities i check sputum AFB ,result was negative but some pus cells are present in sputum.i started Azithomycin 500mg 3 days .still i have tonsilities.kindly adivise

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The tonsillitis is still persisting despite treatment with azithromycin antibiotic.
This implies that the infection is not responding to azithromycin.
You need to get a swab test done.
In swab test, the secretions from the surface of the tonsil are examined for the presence of infectious agent e.g. bacteria.
A drug sensitivity test will determine the antibiotic which is most suitable for the infection.
The tubercular infection is already treated with anti-tubercular treatment and the follow up sputum test has come out to be negative.
Appropriate antibiotics will clear away the tonsillitis also.
