Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For a few months now I've been getting chest pains. Sometimes they're so sever that I could swear I'm having a heart attack. Most of the time the pain and tightness will subside after a little while but sometimes it will last for more than an hour and can be hard to breath or just catch my breath. Over a year ago it started and after an ER visit and testing by my family doctor they said it was because of my gallbladder which was eventually removed. But the pain is back. What can I do?
I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.
Your symptoms show that you suffer from angina pectoris. Angina Pectoris is a condition marked by severe pain in the chest, often also spreading to the shoulders, arms, and neck, owing to an inadequate blood supply to the heart.
To confirm the diagnosis you need: 1. Coronarography. 2. Electrocardiogram. 3. Heart ultrasound. 4. Lipid test. 5. Glucose test. 6. Complete blood count.
Contact your cardiologist.
All the best. Dr. Behar.
