Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
This x ray report is suggestive of old tuberculosis lesion in right upper zone.
Fibrosis, calcification, pleural thickening etc are suggestive of old, healed, inactive lesions.
These are mostly due to previous infection with tuberculosis. These are not active lesions. So no treatment is required only on the basis of chest x ray.
You should get done sputum examination for AFB (acid fast bacilli-bacteria causing tuberculosis). And if this is positive than only you need treatment for tuberculosis. If sputum examination is negative, no need worry for tuberculosis and hence no treatment is required.
These old lesions will remain as it is through out the life. No treatment is required for it.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done sputum examination for AFB.
Hope I have solved your query. Wish you good health. Thanks.
