How To Cure Persistent Sore Throat?

I ve had strep throat since December 30th and just finished my antibiotics 2 days ago. I don t have a fever or dizziness, and my appetite has completely returned but my sore throat still persists. It s doesn t feel as bad as it did before the antibiotics but it s still a bit painful to swallow. Also, the white spots on my tonsils have started to turn slightly darker. Is this normal after 10 days of antibiotics or should I get a refill of my prescription of amoxicillin? Besides the sore throat and a bit of a cough here and there I feel completely fine.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi. Thanks for a nice elucidate history. The white spots you mentioned on tonsils and a sore throat which has persisted indicates the infection has not been cured. You really need to shift to another antibiotic and/ or go for investigations like clinical examination by an ENT Surgeon and do the tests which he may feel proper. Completer the course of another antibiotic, avoid irritants like fumes, strong smells , oily-spicy food. May be the saline gargle do help. Bed rest if possible as it hastens the healing process of the body.
