How To Cure Sleeplessness?

Hi,my mother is 56 year old and she is not getting sleep form last 1 month. she hardly sleep 2 hrs ..some day no sleep..she is not sleeping in morning time also.we showed all doctor ..tey told she don't ave any problems ..even she don't have family probs..please help me in this regards

I had gone through your query.

Sleep problems has two types.

1. Primary insomnia
It means sleep problem without any other psychological disturbance.
2. secondary insomnia associated with psychological problem like stress, anxiety, depression etc.

Secondary insomnia can be treated with treatment of psychological illness
It will improve along with it.

Primary insomnia can be treated with sleep hygiene and medicines.

Sleep hygiene include certain routines and lifestyle modification
Fix sleep schedule and stick on it

No day time sleep

Exercise that makes you fatigue

Stress free activities and meditations
Avoid alcohol and smoking/avoid heavy meal in dinner/avoid tea coffee soft drink at night

Use bed when you feel sleepy?read up to when you will sleepy
No talking or use mobile in bed/Avoid watching TV while you are getting sleep/calm and cool bed room.

These will help to restore good sleep.

In medicines benzodiazapine like clonazepam/lorazepam/zolpidam etc can help.
But you should go for psychological evaluation before taking medicines.
