How To Cure Painful, Swollen Lump Below Knee?

I took a hard fall in a parking lot 2 months ago. Landed directly on left knee. There is a rather large, painful, hard lump directly below knee. Is extremely painful to touch and area around it is still swollen. If I kneel on it, it is extremely painful. I can walk and put weight on leg. Did I chip bone?

You most probably have one of two problems - one could be a broken knee cap. This should be visible in an X ray. Unlikely it will still be painful after 2 months. The more likely possibility is that of a condition called infra patellar bursitis. This causes these typical issues. This should be confirmed by an MRI scan
