How To Cure Painful Lump On The Left Side Of Upper Throat Under The Back Of The Jaw?

i have a lump on the left side of my upper throat just under the back of the jaw. It is painful to the touch but noproblem swallowing as of yet. I noticed the lump just after noon today. It has become more painful and grew in size slightly. My daughter says it feels round but elongated. Is that where a lymph node is?

Hi,

The lump you feel on your left side of your upper throat could be related to a swollen lymph-node. Usually, such lymp-nodes are swollen when you have a
- common cold,
- flu (viral infection),
- infected tooth root,
- or any other bacterial infection of throat, ear, or lymph-node itself

You should follow up with an ENT specialist to start prescription antibiotic orally, take good oral hygiene.

All the best!
