How To Cure Pain Around Tailbone Area?

My son has alot of pain around the tailbone area. The skin feels swelled around the area, but there is no visible sign of a pimple and nothing draining. No injury that we know of. Could this still be a cyst even though we can't see anything on the outside?

Hello,
Thanks for your query.
Avoid sitting down for long periods of time. When seated, avoid sitting on hard surfaces and alternate sitting on each side of the buttocks.
Take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) such as aspirin or ibuprofen to reduce pain and improve your ability to move around.
You can purchase a "doughnut" cushion or pillow to sit on.
Eat foods high in fiber to soften stools and avoid constipation.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
