Hi - I have an old surgery scar (about fifty years old) from gall bladder removal. It is probably a keloid scar. It runs about 7 inches down the middle of my abdomen ending just below my navel. At the waist it is always sore where my clothes rub against it. I have seen a plastic surgeon who said he will redo it. I have read that it is likely to become a keloid again. I am looking for alternatives, such as kenalog injection and/or silicone gel or sheeting. Would I see a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon to discuss alternatives? Thanks!
Its right not to undergo a surgery again as it will also lead to keloid formation again. I would suggest you to undergo kenalog therapy to flatten keloid. For quicker and better result, you can combine cryotherapy also.
