How To Cure Diverticulosos Being A Type 2 Diabetic?

My husband (53yo- type 2 diabetic) recently visited the ER with extreme sciatica pain and severe pain from passing 4 small kidney stones. While in the ER a CT scan was done and results yielded 2 things: (1) a 2,2 cm lesion located on the lower left inferior renal pole and (2) a 14mm cyst which I believe my husband called simple . His labs revealed incidental elevated lipase and slight outpocketing of an intestinal area which was called diverticulosos . Both my husband and I are worried about what all this means so I m asking you - what should his PCM look at first for seriousness? Thank you Doctors!! ~Concerned couple

Hello,

The 2.2 cms lesion may be renal stone but needs confirmation with and help of X ray KUB and other relevant investigation. If confirmed it is quite big and as to be removed surgically.
14 mm lesion may be a renal cyst. If uninfected observation alone may be enough.
I would advise the patient to consult an urologist.
