How To Cure Bruise And Pain Caused By Polyp On The Lower Lip?
My lower lip is very sore after surgery (under local anaesthetic) to remove a polyp from my lip about 36 hours ago. I had two small stitches inserted in the wound, which I am told should disolve in a few days time. The lip is also bruised and still rather swollen around the site of the surgery and I am wondering if this will be gone by time I have to return to work mid-week, as I work in a customer-facing role and also have to be on the phone a lot all day - at the moment I find the swelling and stitches are "catching" when I talk.
Hi. The lip area is very notorious for this post operative edema. Ice fomentations do help in the initial period. Oral steroid will help if it is an urgent task to reduce this edema, ( under Doctor's prescription)
