Thanks for contacting HCM with your health concern.

1. occurrence of white patches post sun burn is/are the effect of prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays on areas constantly exposed which could also be due to the low level of melanin [the pigment which gives skin the colour]

2. you should consult a dermatologist, to check for other associated skin infections which can result in low level of melanin like tinea versicolor, vitiligo, use of birth control pills.

3. If the spot is/are caused by fungal infection then OTC [over the counter] anti fungal ointments and medicated creams prescribed by a dermatologist can be applied

4. Other measures which one can adopt is/are:
. Proper hydration [plenty of fluids/juices/herbal teas.
. use good quality sunscreen [minimum SPF 20]
. products which are rich in vitamin E and contain alpha hydroxyl acids are good for the skin
. One can apply a mixture of honey-turmeric and sandalwood powder on the affected area.
. Avoid going/moving outside during the peak hours [11 am to 5 pm] to avoid getting tanning and too much exposure to ultraviolet rays.
. coconut oil, lemon juice, ripe papaya, yogurt are also helpful

PS. It will be good to have a snapshot of the affected area for better understanding and management of the disease.
