How To Cure A Bump And Pain In The Chest ?

i currently am experiencing a bump and pain in my chest, right side. i went to the doctor and he said i had inflamed cartilage between the sternum and rib bone. at first it did hurt more when i breathed deeply, now a week later, it still hurts a bit when breathing deeply but more so now on a continuous basis. and will also have a sharp pain with no notice at any given time. just wondering if this is still the inflammed cartilage or if there is anything else i should consider doing....i am female, 29, 140 lbs

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No need to worry much for this. At your age of 29 years, costochondritis is likely for your symptoms.
Only painkiller drugs are not enough for complete recovery in costochondritis.
You need to worry follow these lifestyle modifications for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid movements causing pain.
2. Avoid bad postures in sleep.
3. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
4. Apply warm water pad on affected areas.
5. Wear rib belt or chest belt to prevent mobilization of painful area.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these in 1-2 weeks.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
