How To Confirm The Presence Of Pernicious Anemia?

Hi! I found out about half a yr ago that I had extremely low hemoglobin, probably pernicious anemia; it made running xc a painful ordeal. I kno I most likely had it for a good yr before. around this time was when my legs, my thighs esp would start swelling up for no reason at all. I get out of bed in the morn, start brushing & they'll start swelling. Can this be linked somehow to anemia? which is better now. I also had a doctor tell me that there was something off with my kidneys. Could it be related to that then? Thanks for your time!

Hi, dear.
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You may have pernicious anemia. For that you can go for intrinsic factor test. Your swelling in leg is not related to pernicious anemia. You should go for complete kidney function test and protein level. Then take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
