hello my daughter is nine weeks pregnant. they told her at eight weeks she must have just miscarried no fetal heart beat no blood flow showing. At nine weeks had another u/s baby measures nine weeks lining good fluid there, no heart beat. No signs or symptoms of miscarriage why is baby still growing? Also said ambilical cord not big enough to supply enough food for baby. So concerned is baby dead or not. How can it still be growing with out heart beat.
Hi, I have gone through your question. A fetus without cardiac activity at 9 weeks of gestation and no blood flow is suggestive of missed abortion.the cardiac activity is usually visible in the fetus by 6 weeks. The growth in the baby in the subsequent scans can be an intraobserver error on ultrasound (difference in measuring the length of the fetus in two ultrasounds by two different people).I would suggest your daughter to consult with an OBGYN specialist as soon as possible to get appropriate treatment. Hope this answers your question. Wishing you both good health.
