I went to the doctor last week to be tested for stds and hiv. I used the rapid quick oral hiv test and the doctor told me that it came back positive, that there was a very faint line in the t section. At first look you can not see the line but upon lookin closer there is what seems to be a faint line. She sent my blood off for more testing and sent me on my way. I was wondering how accurate is the oral test? Is there a possibility that its false? I am scared to death.
Yes it is not perfect test. You need confirmatory test. Go for western blot test which detects antigen. Or you can go for pcr. These are the confirmatory test. And dont worry evenif it comes positive . Because nowadays anti retro viral drugs available. And you can spend your life normaly.so dont worry.
