Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a laparoscopic appendectomy about a week ago and I feel a small sharp something underneath the skin just beneath the hypogastric incision. There is slight discomfort when urinating felt directly below the incision. I'm afraid this could be an incisional hernia. What could this be from?
I have gone through your query. Pain beneath incision is not incisional hernia. In hernia, you will notice a bulge from the area on straining like coughing or lifting heavy object. In your case, cause of pain is most likely the adhesion below incision. It is very common after surgery. Pain will go away gradually in a month, if not consult your treating doctor.
Hope I have answered you. You can contact me on my page http://bit.ly/DrGaurav Wish you a good health. Regards
