Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter had tubes put in her ears 4 months ago. Tonight I was checking them and they are covered in a dry, black ....something. I have seen a fair amount of eardrums but nothing like this. One eardrum is completely covered and the walls surrounding. The other is similar but with a small bit of healthy whitish drum showing through. It looks like old (very old) dried blood. Should I call her ENT? is this normal after tubes? I didn t think old blood would stay in that long, especially considering her ENT gave her the go ahead to swim in pools. Which she does twice a week. Any advice or info is appreciated! Thank you!
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, without the otoscope nothing could be cleared and it is best to consult the ENT surgeon because ENT is the best judge because it may not be anything what you have seen it may be normal one or even could be something serious hope this information helps.
