How To Check The Pharynges For Pharyngitis?

Hi, the dr think I have oesophagitis/pharyngitis. I will go to see an especialist on ENT next month. But what is it?
It is an allergic reation to something? I believe they have to check the pharynge with a special machine. How it is?
I really want to know more about it.

Dear sir i can understand your concern.The meaning of pharyngitis is inflammation most due to infection of mucosal layer of pharynx.it can be seen with direct and indirect laryngoscope.if infection is very sever it can be seen even with a toung depressor.to check for Oeophagitis you need a help of endo scope.usually oesophagitis is seen in GERD,This is a kind of acid reflux disease...
