How To Calculate The Ovulation Date Having Irregular Periods?

Hi, Age- 27 Weight- 102kg I have PCOD and always have irregular periods. Also I am a patient of IgA nephropathy since 2 years having protein urea which is now under control. I am trying to conceive as suggested by my doctors. I am going for follicle scanning day 12th 14th and 16th but on May day 16th 1 follicle was found F1 16.5 again started the cycle. But on June no follicle was found. I am taking Siphene 100mg from March to May and 150 mg in June from 3rd day of my period for 5 days and Duphaston 10 mg from 15th day for 10 days. I want to know the chances of getting pregnant with the treatment I am taking as we are active in intercourse. As my medicines for nephropathy is over 9 months before doctor suggested me to try for pregnancy now else in future again I may have to take medicines for nephropathy. Also doc suggested me glycomet to reduce weight as that will help in pregnancy but It gave me side effects so doc asked to stop. Please help me to know if the treatment will help me get pregnant and how will I know if I am ovaluating with irregular periods. Regards Salma

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. In the current scenario, you can keep track of your ovulation by noting the basal body temperature from day one of your menstrual cycle. When properly taken, ovulation is indicated by a rise of temperature and this rise persists if conception has occurred. Ovulation kits, on the contrary, show the LH surge and not the actual ovulation. Ovulation can happen within 36 hours of positive test. Reduction in weight can also help in regulating hormone balance which aids in your treatment. The dosage of medication is stepped up until ovulation is achieved but not exceeding 200 mg. per day. IUI on fertile day is also useful. Hope this helps.
