Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. You are having alcohol abuse habit. You should consult a psychiatrist or suitable physician for treatment as follows:

- behavioural counselling

- disulfiram drug used that block alcohol metabolism and so if you drink alcohol unpleasant symptoms occur and hence desire for drinking decreases

- to decrease craving for alcohol another drug used is naltrexone

- Be firm to stop alcohol drinking and during alcohol withdrawal symptoms alprazolam like drug prescribed to improve withdrawal symptoms.

Consult psychiatrist with keeping all this in mind.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
