How To Administer ORS And Sporolac Bd For Loose Stools?

Hello Doctor ,, my daughter has loose stools, 4 times yesterday .....was prescribed ORS which she refused to drink and sporolac bd for 5 days.. asked for stool routine,. i didn't give sporolac yesterday. today she passed stools once but consistency loose . .
wanted to know mode of administration of sporolac powder? can i give it along with along with fruit juice as she is refusing to take with water. how much of water / fruit juice(ml) to be taken for one sachet of sporolac powder... can
i give along with meal or should i wait for sometime after sporolac is give....can it be given even after diarrhoea stops......

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. It seems your kid is having acute watery diarrhea. Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry. Antibiotics might worsen if unnecessarily used causing antibiotic associated diarrhoea. Probiotics like Sporolac are required only for antibiotic associated diarrhoea. I suggest you use zinc supplements (Z and D drops 1ml once daily for 14 days) & ORS as suggested. If you still want to give Sporolac you can mix in 5 ml of water and give it.
