I am Arindam from West Bengal. I have a girl of 5 years. My wife conceived just 14 days ago. A test report taken before 7 days made her confirm about the fact. We don't want a child right now. Is there any medicine which can help us keeping aside the surgical abortion?
Hello dear Understand your concern You can use abortion pill that contain mifepristone plus misoprostol. Abortion pill require gynecologist prescription to buy it. It should be used under advice and supervision of gynecologist after confirming intrauterine pregnancy of less than 63 days. Avoid home use as self medication as it cause serious complication and chance of failure of abortion. By procedure, mifepristone 600 mg should be taken orally after meal, after 48 hour missoprostol 400 ug should be put high in the vagina by gynecologist. If require and no efficient bleeding another 400 ug can be given after 4 hour. USG should be done after 14 days to confirm incomplete abortion. Bleeding and cramps will occur 45 minutes after using last abortion and pill and gradually decrease in 4-5 days as abortion process will complete. Rest, analgesic, multivitamin and iron supplements with balanced diet and proper pelvic hygiene should be maintained to prevent infection. Use condoms and I pill to prevent unwanted pregnancies in future. Hope that help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
