thyroid hormone increases ldl receptors in liver ,so increase hepatic removal of cholesterol from blood.
so in hypothyroidism plasma cholesterol increases.
also it is associated with accumulation of hyaluronic acid within various tissues, additional fluid retention due to reduced cardiac output
these all can cause obesity
