How Should Further HIV Testing Be Done After VDRL Testing?

Hi Doctor, I went to physician and informed I had a oral sex with prostitute and I informed my provider to do the blood check up... Based on his instructions check up done by lab technician the result is Vdrl is non reactive and Hiv1&2 is negative dey done dis check up thru Tridotmethod..... Note: The test reported above was performed using rapid. Visual invited immunoassay for differential detection of HIV I&II antibodies (Igg) in human serum plasma. The test is a screen for anti HIV -I&II AND ALL REACTIVE RESULTS OBTAINED BY THIS METHOD HAVE TO BE CONFIRMED BY ELISA. The result from this or any other diagnostic kit should be used and interpreted only in the context of the overall clinical picture library. Levels of HIV antibodies may be undetectable in the early stages of infection. Can you please help me what I have to do next..

Hello
You did oral sex and got blood test and results are NEGATIVE for STD and HIV infection .
But advised you please get in blood for HIV ELISA test for confirmation .
Now note down these readings :
Although HIV can be isolated typically in low titers from a saliva of a small proportion of infected individuals , there is NO convincing evidence that SALIVA can transmit HIV infection through kissing or oral sex .
Saliva contains endogenous antiviral factors and prevent spread of HIV infection by oral method.
In your case you did oral sex and saliva has the ANTIVIRAL PROPERTIES so no chance of any HIV infection by you due to oral sex.
Still you are in dilemma so please get in p 24 nucleic acid amplification ( Western blot ) rapid test for HIV confirmation .
As this will alleviate you stress , anxiety and fear.
Also get in VDRL for any sexual related diseases.
Hope this will help you.
