How Should Mifegest Be Taken To Terminate Pregnancy?
Hi,good morning doctor my wife is 30 years old & we have a 1 year old child. My wife missed her period which was supposed to happen on 20/11/2016,she did a pregnancy test & it confirmed she is positive.we went to a gynecologist & he suggested us Primolut-N 5 mg to take for 5-6 days& if bleeding doest not start & ask us to do an advance USG.it was of no help & USG confirm 6 weeks pregnant. My doc gave Mifegest200 to take on first day followed by cytolog 200 for the next 2 days. I need your help as she had the first tablets mifegest last night at 10 PM & still she is not having any feelings for periods.need your help as there are 2 more tablets left and he asked us to take them all orally no insertion will that be effective. Please help

I understand your concern
Your wife have 6 week intrauterine pregnancy.
It is safely aborted by the mifegest and cytolog under the supervision of the gynecologist.
Ideally following is the method:
Day 1: Tablet mifegest 200 mg orally
Day 3: 400 ug misoprostol/cytolog orally or vaginally under the advise of the gynecologist.
Bleeding will occur 30-45 minutes after the intake of misoprostol
So you can take misorportol/cytolog orallly alo, it does not decrease the effectiveness.
If no induced bleeding will occur then another two tablet of cytolog vaginally should be require.
So I would suggest to take misoprostol orally or vaginally under the supervision of the authorized gynecologist.
If bleeding will be excessive then again consult the doctor.
USG should be done after 14 days to confirm the complete process of abortion for safe practice.
Post abortion advise:
Rest for 48 hours, take healthy diet, drink plenty of water and maintain proper pelvic hygiene.
Use safe sex practice in future to prevent the unwanted pregnancy.
