how serious is a stroke? my ex-husband had two tia s (days ago) then was transported to a hospital and treated. Then told he had a stroke after all. The next day he could not move his left arm and leg himself ( he could after the initial TIA s and medicine) day 3 they found a clot.

I saw your explanation. Seriousness of stroke actually depends on the type of stroke. Major or minor. If it's minor and immediate medical service available then there will not be major issues. But if it's major and immediate medical service is not available the it can be very serious and life may come at risk. For major stroke even after stroke it's a long process for physical recovery. You have to take help of physical therapist for at least 3 to 6 month time to make him physical independent. As well the recovery time is not define. It's different from patient to patient. Also depend on amount of damage in brain. Hope you got your answer. Take care.
