How Safe Is Using Sealant For Tooth Decay?

On my 16 year old sons last Dentist appointment he was told that he has tiny little pits in all his teeth and they were not sure why but suggest putting a sealant on all of the them. What would cause this, and if it is an internal problem how with sealants help?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain if your son has deep pits and fissures on his teeth then these are prone areas for the decay as deep pits and fissures do not get completely cleaned and decay starts from here due to bacterial proliferation...

Pits and fissures sealents are filled in these area and will lead to preservation of the teeth from cavitation..

You should go ahead with the treatment as there is no harm in it , other it will ease in cleaning of teeth and increase the life of teeth..

Hope this information helps..

If you find the answer helpful please give me a Five Star Review and click on found the answer helpful as a token of appreciation..
