hello dr, my wife is 5 weeks pregnant and took mifepristone 200mg nd aftr 32 hrs she took misoprostol 800mg intra vaginal and buccal..she started bleedng but less with very little clots n cramps..din work so she took misoprost 200mg nxt morning..her bleedng ws even lesser than her normal cycle she complains so she took again 600mg misoprost at night stil less bleedng and now she is having gas formation ..wat would you like to suggest?
Hi, Thanks for the query. The timing of misoprostol was a bit early after mifepristone. Also it would help to know when the second dose of misoprost was taken. T
In any case if she has experienced less bleeding there is a possibility of incomplete abortion. This means that some part of the pregnancy may still be remaining inside. This happens sometimes. another possibility is that it was already a missed abortion and hence she experienced less bleeding.
The best way to confirm this is by ultrasound examination to look for any products of conception in the uterus. A transvaginal ultrasound scan would be better.
If there are retained products a surgical evacuation may be needed.
