How Safe Is Flecanide For Atrial Fibrillation?

I had a pacemaker put in four weeks ago. At the time, two of my cardiologists told me I could go back on flecanide for atrial fibrilation which I have had for several years. I was taking flecanide for two and half years when I developed a low heart rate of 30 and colitis caused by the low blood flow to the heart. Now that the pacemaker has been installed my heart rate is consistently between 60 and 75. Is it safe to go back on the flecanide for the atrial fib which is quite annoying and consistent?

HI welcome to HCM.
Pacemaker in your case seem to be doing a good job.Flecanide has pro arrythmic potential. It has significant side effect profile.Atrial fibrillation in your case can be treated with drugs like digioxin and amiodarone.Warfarin prophylaxis is required in case if left atrial enlargement and thrombus is demonstrated on screening 2 dimensional echo of heart.Consult your cardiologist for further help.
Thank you
