Hello,
Very sorry to know of this outcome. Induced labor can be made painless through epidural analgesia. This includes giving small incremental doses through an epidural catheter under strict aseptic precautions. The patient is monitored throughout. Thus it is easier, especially when there is lot of stress as in your case. The baby, if born alive, may survive from a few minutes to a few hours. The two facts, the anatomical defect and the prematurity determine the outcome. Please ask your sister to be prepared mentally. Hope this helps.
