I'm pretty sure I was 12. Funny how girls feel so insecure before it starts, but once it does, they realize how stupid they were for not enjoying it before while it lasted!

The age of menarche [onset of menses] is generally between 11-14 years age & it depends upon a number of factor. For last few decades, it is observed that it is decreasing: improved dietary status as well as increased weight is considered a factor. If the onset of menses is before 10 years or after 15 years of age you need to consult your gynecologist.
