How Often Can Ventolin Inhaler Be Used?
I have a Ventolin inhaler and the doctor did not tell me how often max I could use it in a 24 hour period. This inhaler is just to be used till i have an appointment next week. She plans to perscribe a regular asthma inhalent of dulera and also poss Tudorsa. But the weekend is near and if I use the rescue inhaler Ventolin I did not want to over use it for any reason.

Ventolin (albuterol) is a bronchodilator that relaxes muscles in the airways and increases air flow to the lungs.It may be used to treat or prevent bronchospasm in people with reversible obstructive airway disease.
Its dosage depends on the intensity of your symptoms.During acute symptoms, 2 inhalations repeated every 4 to 6 hours.However, in the absence of symptoms, you may not use it.
Your Doctor may encourage the use of ventolin during acute attacks and may recommend a Long-term asthma control medications like seretide or others for preventive purposes.Just observe your symptoms and always have your inhaler with you till you meet your Doctor.
