How Must Medication Be Managed For Lyme S Disease And Cyclothymia?

I am a 56 y/o female struggling with Chronic Lyme Disease for 20 years. I have been under treatment for 7 years. I am about 50% improved but deal with neurologic and other long term complications. Recently I was diagnosed with Cyclothymia due to worsening mood swings and I was started on Lamictal. I am also taking Effexor for depression as well as Wellbutrin and Adderal for ADHD. Is medication management for Cyclothymia the same or as effective regardless of the cause? ( infection vs. heredity)

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Recent studies have shown that chronic infection and inflammation can trigger cyclothymia. Treatment of cyclothymia is aways the same irrespective of underlying condition.
Additionally, effective control of underlying infection, a diet rich in omega 3 fatty acid like olive oil and salmon can also help.

Hope this answers your question
