Hello ...
Thanks for visiting HCM.
Anti tubercular therapy (ATT) in a new case is for six months with a daily dose of isoniazide, rifampicin, pyrazinamide and ethambutol (AKT4 kit as you have mentioned) for the first two months followed by four months of isoniazide and rifampicin. The dose has to be taken empty stomach in the morning every day.
One additional tablet of pyridoxine is advised in cases of pregnancy, lactaion, renal failure, alcoholics etc.
You can give dietary protein supplements to her.
The response of the therapy can be symptomatically monitored by sense of wellbeing, weight gain, improving x-rays etc....
And above all it's fully curable disease and nothing is there to worry ...

Best wishes for her recovery..

Thanks for the query

Depending on which organ is affected and the category akt 4 has to be taken. Ideally it should be taken on an empty stmach. Please follow the your dotors advice. After a few months it should be switched over to R cinex

hello
welcome to hcm
your question is about akt 4 tab
akt 4 has 4 tablets of which all are to be taken after breakfast (empty stomach will cause lots of nausea )except the rifampicin capsule which is to be taken 1 hr before or 2 hrs after meals.your doctor will also advise you aditional tab pyridoxone till your wife is on these tablets. pyridoxone is a vitamin which needs to be supplemented when pt is on isoniazid treatment.
hope this is helpful
