How Much Cheese Can Be Eaten With An Enlarged Heart?

I have just been diagnosed with an enlarged heart. I am Female, high allergy to food and drugs, 67 next month, at present unable to exercise due to failed knee replacement, awaiting another assessment on the knee. In a wheelchair for 50% of each day for last 12 years due to knee. My diet is balanced and healthy (within my allergy limits) however I cannot have Low fat, low sodium foods, sugar I have very little, I get it from fresh fruit and of some vegetables. I am also lactose intolerant and very chemical sensitive. What is the general allowance for cheese (low lactose only - high matured or ricotta) yoghurt must be premium natural. General guidelines overall would be very helpful. I am taking One Q 10 and one aspirin daily. Thankyou. Gail

Hi,
I would highly advice you to cut short your fat intake, in any form. Cheese of any form is a NO. Highest i allow my patients is 100ml of 50% diluted fat free milk or 100gm of yoshurt per day, but it all depends on the weight of the patient, diet habit, and any other comorbid disease.
I would advice you to attend diet councellor, with expertise on cardiac meals, to help you out, planning according to your habits and body form.

Feel free to contact me, it you have further queries.

Regards
