Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

A infant in the age group of 10 months can pass stool every time they have a meal.

Is there any blood or mucus in the stool?

Is the stool watery or in large quantity?

Does your child cry of pain while passing stool?

Is there any associated fever?

If there is any associated blood or mucus in the stool then we consider dysentry and start on antibiotics.
If the stools are watery and large quantity we give ORS to prevent dehydration.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

Cardiologist Dr. Hemant Kumar's  Response
a normal infant can pass stool 10 times/day , after every feed due to gastro-colic reflex.
so do not worry
worry only- if she pass less urine/ less active/less sucking/ fever/ or green stool
otherwise be remain happy

Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Infants may pass frequent stools which are normal in consistency, especially immediately after taking feeds.
This penomenon is normal and called gastrocolic reflex.
As the stools are normal now, nothing to worry regarding the frequency.
Hope I have answered your query.
