How Long Will The THC From Marijuana Stay In Child's System?

I am 32 weeks pregnant and have used marijuana for relief from hyper permesis throughout my pregnancy as my family physician told me that stress is the worse thing for an unborn baby. How long will the THC stay in my childs system as I am becoming more concerned with the end of my pregnancy nearing. Family and friends have also told me that marijuana is safer and does less harm than smoking cigarettes. Is this true and how long will the THC stay in my childs system?

Hi,

Cannabis (marijuana) is metabolized and excreted by the body in a few days. However, the damage it has done to the developing brain of your baby is long-lasting. There is strong research evidence to show that prenatally cannabis-exposed children display cognitive deficits, suggesting that maternal consumption has interfered with the proper maturation of the brain. I do not agree with your friends when they say that cannabis is safer than tobacco. Both harm the baby but in different ways. In my opinion, you should quit as soon as possible.

Best wishes.
