How Long Will Strep Throat Take To Cure While On Antibiotics?

i was diagnosed with strep throat 4 days ago and given Cephalexin (500MG). I started antibiotics 4 days ago. I feel relatively better but my throat remain swollen and infected looking. Should I go back for a different prescirption or wait to see results?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering how much time will strep throat take to cure while on antibiotics which seems to be due to infection in throat leading to Strep throat. It can take around a week to cure . Take proper diet and do warm saline gargles several times a day daily . Sometimes sore throat occur due to viral infection and antibiotics won't help and it take tkes to get back to the normal. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances and carbonated beverages. For pain and swelling you should take ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like viral infection .
