Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
You are lucky that the ectopic pregnancy is being managed by
methotrexate.
Otherwise, a laparoscopic or an open surgery would have been undertaken, and your
fallopian tube would have been removed.
With methotrexate, you have to be monitored for a long term
Atleast for the first 6 months after the ectopic pregnancy, the B HCG levels have to be periodically assessed and checked.
If for the first 6 weeks, the levels have been consistently normal ( less than 5 ), then you can consider yourself treated atleast for the time being.
Please remember that the monitoring has to be for a year following the methotrexate injection.
As far as gymming or exercise is concerned, you can safely resume the same 6 weeks after the event.
As long as your
ultrasound is clear and there is no residual mass or formation of a chronic ectopic TO mass ( tubo ovarian mass ), then exercise would be alright.
Dont start off too vigorously, and avoid abdominal exercises and overstraining your tummy.
Cardiovascular exercise and
weight training in moderation would be fine.
Avoid conception for atleast 6 months, you can safely use
oral contraceptive pills in the interim period.
All the best
Take care.
